ARC Raiders, the multiplayer, third-person extraction shooter developed by Embark Studios, has sold more than 16.3 million copies to date.

Nexon, the Tokyo-based game publisher which owns Embark Studios, announced the number as part of its Q2 earnings call. During the most recent quarter, ARC Raiders sold 800,000 more units. An interesting piece of news: Two new Embark games are under way at the studio.

The cumulative sales number for the $40 original intellectual property game is impressive, but it’s worth noting that sales have flattened, as Nexon reported two quarters ago that as of the fourth calendar quarter of 2025, sales had reach 14 million. (Here’s our gameplay session interview with Embark CEO — and Nexon executive chairman — Patrick Soderlund and former Nexon CEO Owen Mahoney):

Embark Studios had a surprise hit with ARC Raiders when it launched at the end of October 2025. It saw a meteoric rise in players (with at least 14 million copies sold) for a few months, and the small studio had to scramble to put out updates to keep players coming back. But then the concurrent players started to dwindle, and on May 13, Embark announced it would stop trying to feed the weekly or monthly beast and instead move to more significant updates.

Nexon said that sales momentum was “normalizing” more than nine months after launch. But this week, Nexon announced Frozen Trail, the largest content drop since launch, is slated for October 8 release.

In July, the company conducted a Closed Alpha Test in China together with its partner Tencent, which exceeded its target for registrations. ARC Raiders has generated more than ¥88 billion since the launch in October last year.. That’s $551.6 million. I have hit the level cap of 75 after 192 hours playing ARC Raiders.
