Maingear has introduced the Zero, a new compact gaming desktop built around a fully transparent chassis with no visible cables and no exposed RGB components.
Maingear announced its new gaming desktop product today, July 30. The Warren, New Jersey-based PC maker said in a press release that it had designed the Zero around two priorities: high-end gaming performance and a minimalist look that puts internal hardware on full display. The system can be configured up to an AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D or Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus CPU, paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU. The Zero is available now, with a base price of $2,699.
A continuous panel of tempered glass wraps around the front and side of the Zero’s case without any seams or panel breaks, with the goal of keeping the GPU, cooler, fans, motherboard and memory visible from every angle. All RGB lighting inside the system is diffused rather than exposed, so light spreads across components rather than shining from visible diodes.
The Zero’s visual design leans heavily on Maingear’s patented MG-RC, or Rear Connection, technology, which routes all motherboard cabling to the back and underside of the board. That eliminates visible cable clutter from the interior of the case entirely, leaving the glass panels to show off hardware without obstruction.
For collectors, Maingear is also releasing a Zero Launch Edition, which ships with two tool-free display stands — one for figurines, one for bricks — that snap into the case floor and let owners display collectibles alongside their hardware. Maingear said the system’s airflow keeps the display area cool and dust-free, and stand designs will be available as free downloads for 3D printing. Launch Edition units also include a curved OLED panel on the cooler capable of looping custom video or gameplay footage.
The Zero ships in six pre-configured tiers, ranging from the Emerald build (Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus and RTX 5070, starting at $2,799) up to the Champion build (Ryzen 7 9850X3D and RTX 5090, starting at $6,499), with Platinum, Sapphire, Elite and Amethyst configurations in between. Each ships with Kingston Fury DDR5 memory tuned for AMD EXPO or Intel XMP profiles. Buyers can also commission a fully custom build through Maingear’s online configurator.
“That’s what Zero is about… zero distractions,” said Wallace Santos, Maingear’s CEO and founder, in a press release, describing the goal of letting the hardware speak for itself.
Every Maingear PC, including the Zero, is hand-built in New Jersey and comes with a standard one-year warranty, upgradable to three years, along with lifetime technical support. Maingear is also offering zero-interest financing through Bread Pay for qualifying buyers.
