Battlestate Games, the studio that created Escape from Tarkov, announced today that it has launched a new division, Battlestate Games Publishing. Through this arm, they will publish “hardcore, uncompromising titles” from third-party studios, games that were built upon the same vision that helped Battlestate creative their most popular title.
Which games do the Tarkov team want to publish? According to the studio, they are not picky about genre, platform or type of game. They want games that have been rejected by other studios for being “too ambitious, too niche, or too risky.” Partnered studios retain ownership fo their IP, while Battlestate offers support, funding and resources.
The word “hardcore” doesn’t appear to have been chosen idly. Nikita Buyanov, Battlestate’s head of studio, said in a statement, “We publish the games we want to make and play. We are here to help bring detailed, uncompromising, hardcore, and immersive ideas to life — to make hardcore live forever.”
At present, Battlestate is accepting submissions for games at all stages of development. In a social media post, the studio says, “We’re not looking for the safe pitch. We’re looking for the one that made investors nervous… Full pitch. No polish required. Just conviction.”
