Xbox opened its summer games showcase with several familiar, popular franchises. One of those was Fable, which has been in the works at Playground Games for quite some time. Today it got a new trailer depicting one of its villains, as well as a release date: February 27, 2027. It launches day one on Xbox Game Pass, as well as Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Cloud, Steam and PlayStation 5.

The trailer depicts Isabel, Hero of Wraithmarsh (played by Hayley Atwell) as she describes her backstory and her belief that she is the only hero the world needs. It also shows clips of the player characters of Albion fighting her multiple times, cementing her as one of the games antagonists.

The trailer also shows off more of the game’s cast, including the two versions of the Hero, played by Lily Nichol and Ukweli Roach; and mentor Humphrey, played by Matt King. Other characters shown include Arden the Cobbler (played by Susan Wokoma), Jenny (played by Natasia Demetriou), Jacob (played by Nathan Foad) and Connor (played by Kwame Augustine).

The rest of the trailer also depicts the general vibes of the Isabel’s villainy, as she makes reference to Albion needing not a group of ragtag “heroes,” but a true hero — namely, her. Fable’s narrative director, Craig Owens, said in an Xbox Wire interview, “Isabel’s conviction that she’s not just doing the right thing, but she’ll be able to make right any harm she causes along the way makes her a powerful, dangerous enemy.”
