Developer DICE is releasing more Battlefield 4 … what’s that? You would like to play any Battlefield 4 before they release downloadable content? Too bad.
DICE delayed the PlayStation 4 patch that fixes many of the crashing and connection issues that are plaguing the modern-military shooter. Battlefield 4 is experiencing similar breaks across all platforms, and the studio intends to dispatch updates for all systems soon (the PC fixes should go live any day).
“The PS4 game update that was originally meant to go live Dec. 3 is undergoing some additional testing and will be rescheduled for a later date,” reads a blog post on DICE’s website. “We will get back with final details as soon as we have verification that the update is good to go.”
The studio previously released updates that only moderately improved the problems.
Despite the continuing issues, DICE and publisher Electronic Arts released China Rising, the first expansion pack for Battlefield 4. It’s available now to Battlefield players that purchased the $50 Premium membership. China Rising will go on sale for non-Premium members starting in two weeks.
We’ve reached out to EA and DICE to ask if it is concerned about releasing DLC while the game is still not performing at 100 percent. We’ll update this post with any new comments or information.
