Battlestate Games announced the official launch of the first Escape from Tarkov season, Kord Breach.
The major update (1.1.0.0) is now available to all players. It introduces a dedicated seasonal game mode with separate progression, a unique gameplay modifier system, a cross-profile Battle Pass, and much more.
Escape From Tarkov has had many millions of players since it came out in alpha in 2016 and beta in 2017.
Key Features of Update 1.1.0.0
- A New Progression Format
Update 1.1.0.0 introduces a comprehensive seasonal system and seasonal characters to Escape from Tarkov. Seasonal characters are created and played on dedicated PvP servers featuring their own balance and economy.
- Battle Pass and Seasonal Rewards
The first season, codenamed Kord Breach, introduces a brand-new reward system. A global Battle Pass now connects all game modes and is available to every player, alongside exclusive seasonal rewards.
- Gameplay Modifier System
The defining feature of the seasonal system is the new modifier mechanic, which players select during character creation. Modifiers can dramatically change the gameplay experience, allowing players to increase the challenge for a more hardcore experience or simplify certain aspects of the game.
- Seasonal Content
Players can look forward to new content and an original story-driven questline that expands the lore of the BlackDivision unit.
- Seasonal Leagues and Rankings
Shortly after the release of Update 1.1.0.0, the new League system will become available, allowing players to compete for exclusive rewards.
- “Expansions Hub” and “TarCoin”
The introduction of Seasons marks another major milestone in the evolution of Escape from Tarkov, complementing the “Expansions Hub” and the in-game currency “TarCoin”. Together, these systems create a comprehensive ecosystem that gives players greater freedom in customization and progression.
