Epic Games confirmed in a social media posting that it’s taking legal action against yet another person involved with cheating in Fortnite. In this case, it’s a player who admitted to helping to sell cheat software in partnership with Blurred.gg. Epic says that this player is “barred from selling cheats in the future.”
Epic’s post is not the first time it has reported that it’s taking legal action against a player for using cheats or distributing software that offers players an unfair advantage over others. It has also sued those who used DDoS attacks against Fortnite content creators.
Blurred is a site that offers DMA cheat software for Fortnite, among other games. DMA cheats offer a number of advantages to unscrupulous players, including wall hacks and aimbots. Players typically use them through a secondary computer in order to duck any of the game’s built-in anticheat measure.
The person in question, who goes by “UHyper808” on X, has issued a public apology which states: “I would like to apologize to the Fortnite community for working with the Blurred[.]gg website and participating in selling cheating software for Fortnite. I broke Epic’s rules and they took legal action against me. I am banned from playing Fortnite and I am no longer working with Blurred[.]gg or selling cheating software for Fortnite.”
