Amazon launches retro gaming portal

Amazon has launched a new Retro Zone that focuses on classic games. It features mobile apps for nostalgic favorites like Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Final Fantasy IV, clothing, toys, books, and retro consoles.

Amazon dedicating an entire portal to retro gaming is another sign of how big the market is becoming. We’ve seen Nintendo make a big impact with its NES and SNES Classic Systems, showing just how hungry nostalgic gamers are to re-experience their favorites.

Some of the biggest names in classic gaming have their own dedicated pages in the Retro Zone. Specifically, Nintendo, Sega, Square Enix, and Atari.

The Amazon version of some mobile games will also be getting exclusive content. Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee, for example, features an Amazon-exclusive orange skinned Abe
