Esports market to grow 43% to $463M in 2016 and reach $1.1B by 2019

The global esports market is expected to grow 43 percent from $325 million in 2015 to $463 million in 2016, according to a new report by market researcher Newzoo. By 2019, esports are expected to grow to $1.1 billion.

Esports, where professional gamers play video games in competition with others, have grown to a big spectator events, driving big companies such as ESPN, Activision Blizzard, and Electronic Arts to form esports divisions in recent months.
