Yakuza 7 first leaked as an April Fools’ joke, but it’s actually real

The Yakuza series is returning next year, but it is also getting some major changes. Yakuza 7 has a new hero and location. But the biggest departure for the series is that it’s now using a turn-based combat system.

Yakuza 7 debuts January 16 in Japan, China, and Korea for the PlayStation 4, according to Wall Street Journal reporter Takashi Mochizuki. Sega is promising to launch it in North America and Europe later in 2020.
