Xsolla expands to Vietnam and launches new suite of products | exclusive

Xsolla, a game commerce company, announced a series of new product launches, market expansions and strategic initiatives for game devs.

The updates are designed to give game developers and creators unprecedented access to global commerce infrastructure, emerging markets, and new revenue opportunities.

Xsolla said the announcements collectively represent the commitment to building all the things for developers to launch and monetize their video games across platforms and geographies.

The updates span a unified cross-platform SDK, entry into Vietnam as the country’s first licensed Merchant of Record. It also has a new reseller program, expanded payment coverage across 18 markets, and a multi-year collaboration to develop and grow Azerbaijan’s gaming ecosystem.

“Game developers need a partner who can meet them wherever they are across platforms, across borders, and across business models,” said Chris Hewish, president at Xsolla, in a statement. “These announcements reflect our commitment to removing barriers at every stage of the developer journey, from integration and monetization to market entry and distribution. We’re building all the things developers need to reach more players and grow their businesses globally.”

Xsolla SDK: One integration, every platform

Xsolla announced the availability of Xsolla SDK, a unified, cross-platform software development kit that consolidates the company’s PC, mobile, and web monetization tools into a single download.

The Xsolla SDK introduces built-in integration for Payments, Login, Catalog, and Offerwall, enabling developers to configure pricing and inventory once and deploy across every supported platform, iOS, Android, PC, and the web with no reconfiguration required.

The Xsolla SDK is powered by two decades of building payment and monetization tools exclusively for game developers, over $10 billion in total payments processed, and the same payment infrastructure trusted by over 60% of the top 100 highest-grossing games globally.

The SDK gives developers of all sizes access to battle-tested monetization tools through a single integration. Drop-in support is available for Unity, Unreal Engine, and Cocos Creator.

The Xsolla SDK also includes an integrated Offerwall, allowing developers to generate incremental revenue from non-paying users through advertiser-funded rewarded tasks at no upfront cost.

Xsolla Vietnam: 1st licensed merchant of record in the country

Xsolla announced the acquisition of WeTaps Corporation, a Ho Chi Minh City–based publisher holding a G1 license for online game business operations in Vietnam, and the launch of its Merchant of Record (MoR) services in the country.

As the first licensed MoR for games in Vietnam, Xsolla now offers developers a seamless and compliant entry point into the country’s booming gaming market, which has surpassed established leaders in mobile game exports with more than 6.7 billion downloads to date and a domestic market projected to exceed $430 million in 2025.

The acquisition and MoR launch are part of Xsolla’s Global Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships (GSIP) efforts to expand local publisher assets and build direct-to-consumer infrastructure in high-growth markets.

Developers gain accelerated market entry through an established approval framework, simplified regulatory compliance, 5+ major local payment methods, including MoMo, ZaloPay, and Napas, optimized revenue share, and localized customer support.

As interactive entertainment continues to expand globally, regional hubs are becoming critical drivers of creative production, technical innovation, and intellectual property creation. Xsolla’s launch in Vietnam directly addresses these hurdles.

This launch of Xsolla Vietnam marks a pivotal step toward ensuring the company continues to expand access to emerging markets. This initiative is designed to strengthen the local infrastructure in Southeast Asia, accelerate the commercialization pathway, and expand opportunities within the gaming sector well into the future.

“Vietnam has quickly risen to become both a vital domestic market and a global leader in game exports,” said Hewish. “By becoming the first licensed Merchant of Record in Vietnam, we are helping developers and publishers overcome barriers so they can expand their businesses and reach millions of new players with confidence.”

Xsolla Reseller Program: Unlocking revenue in local markets

Xsolla announced the Xsolla Reseller Program, a new product designed to help game developers scale and capture untapped revenue in local markets with no development needed. The program launches with a curated cohort of resellers and distributors in Southeast Asia and Latin America, with expansion into additional regions throughout 2026.

Billions of dollars in revenue remain untapped in emerging, cash-dependent economies where players purchase digital content through local distribution partners. The Xsolla Reseller Program transforms this global demand into a controlled revenue stream by connecting game developers with verified local resellers through a centralized platform that handles communication, onboarding, compliance, fraud protection, and customer support.

Key benefits include SKU Availability Controls for regional distribution strategy, a Verified Reseller Approval Process with business validation and financial checks, geo-fenced key distribution with built-in fraud protection, automated tax documentation across 150+ countries, and a Unified Reseller Analytics Dashboard for visibility into reseller activity and regional trends.

“Most game developers lack the local infrastructure and direct access to regional markets, and building that presence independently is slow, costly, and operationally complex,” said Hewish. “The Xsolla Reseller Program solves this by acting as the infrastructure layer between developers and vetted local resellers.”

Expanded global payment coverage across 18 markets

Xsolla announced a major expansion of its global payments portfolio across 18 markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, enabling developers to reach new paying users, improve conversion rates, and deliver payment experiences tailored to local player preferences.

The newly supported payment methods include:

  • Amazon Pay in Japan — with over 100 million registered Amazon Japan accounts, providing fully localized checkout experiences in Japanese Yen
  • Zain Cash in Iraq — expanding access to mobile-first payment options in a rapidly growing economy with a population of 40+ million
  • Tamara in Saudi Arabia and the UAE — offering flexible buy now, pay later (BNPL) options serving more than 15 million users, where BNPL adoption rates reach 31–42% among consumers
  • M-Pesa in Tanzania — unlocking access to the country’s leading mobile money ecosystem with over 26 million accounts
  • Zamtel in Zambia — supporting mobile money transactions with over 4.3 million subscribers and 20.5%+ market share
  • Aircash app and vouchers across 12 European countries — including Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, and Austria, with a network of 200,000+ cash-loading points across Europe

“Localized payments are one of the most powerful drivers of conversion and growth for video game developers,” said Hewish. “By expanding our payment coverage across 18 markets, we’re giving developers all the things they need to reach players with the payment methods they already trust without adding complexity to their operations.”

Strategic collaboration with Azerbaijan to advance game development

Xsolla announced a strategic collaboration with the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) and Azercell to support the continued development of Azerbaijan’s game development and digital innovation ecosystem. The multi-year initiative is designed to strengthen local infrastructure, accelerate commercialization pathways, and expand professional opportunities within the gaming sector over the next five years.

As interactive entertainment continues to expand globally, regional development hubs are becoming critical drivers of creative production, technical innovation, and intellectual property creation. Xsolla’s presence in the Azerbaijan market ensures the company continues to create access in emerging markets.

This initiative is designed to strengthen local infrastructure, accelerate commercialization pathways, and expand professional opportunities within the gaming sector over the next five years. Focused on building sustainable industry capacity through structured R&D programs, the collaboration provides commercialization support, workforce expansion, and engagement with international ecosystems.

Key highlights include the establishment of a dedicated R&D hub supporting video game research and scalable production workflows; recruitment and training of game developers, engineers, artists, and technical specialists; structured development programs supporting the creation of multiple minimum viable products (MVPs); workshops, bootcamps, and certification programs in collaboration with academic and corporate partners; guidance for original IP creation and strategic go-to-market planning; and industry events support and international conference participation.

“Building strong regional networks requires long-term commitment, structured execution, and access to global commerce expertise,” said Hewish. “Through this collaboration, we are helping create sustainable pathways for local talent and studios to develop original IP, scale production capabilities, and participate more actively in the global interactive entertainment market.”

Xsolla operates as the merchant of record for over 1,500+ game developers to reach more players and grow their businesses around the world. With more paths to profits and ways to win, developers have all the things needed to enjoy the game.
