Microsoft today revealed the date for its summer gaming showcase: The Xbox Game Showcase 2026 airs on Sunday, June 7. Directly after said showcase, Microsoft will hold a separate show called the Gears of War: E-Day Direct, diving into the upcoming game.

According to Xbox’s announcement, the showcase will feature “first gameplay looks and huge news on upcoming titles from our first-party studios across the Xbox family, as well as our third-party partners around the globe – from the biggest franchises to soon-to-be indie darlings.” The Direct to follow will feature the team from The Coalition and offer new details about E-Day, which is due to launch sometime this year.

Both showcases are part of the series of summer gaming events that usually happen in early June, such as the Summer Game Fest. In addition to the showcases, Xbox is also bringing back its FanFest at Showcase to celebrate the brand’s 25th anniversary.

This will be one of the first big Xbox events since the change in leadership last month. With Microsoft Gaming’s new CEO, Asha Sharma, taking over from Phil Spencer, it remains to be seen if she’ll showcase a new path forward for Xbox at its flagship summer event. If nothing else, it’s possible we’ll hear more about the upcoming console Project Helix.
