Bulkhead and Team17 announced today that Wardogs, the recent tactical FPS sensation, has sold over two million copies within five days of its launch. The game is still in early access, and, despite a few technical bumps in the road, has seen massive numbers in player counts since it launched on September 10. It hit the one million milestone within a day of launch, and now two million within a week.
Joe Brammer, Bulkhead CEO, said in a statement, “Two million in less than five days is completely ridiculous. We knew there was a huge amount of excitement around WARDOGS going into launch, but nothing really prepares you for seeing this many people actually jump into the game. The numbers are massive, but the best part has been watching what players are doing with it. The clips, the insane strategies, the last-second victories, the absolute chaos – that’s the stuff we built WARDOGS for.”
In addition to the above, Bulkhead also released some numbers on how players have been enjoying the game. So far, there have been 123 million total kills, 61 million total revives, 52 million total dropoffs and $1.3 trillion total in-game cash earned. They also noted a peak of over 428,000 concurrent players, with numbers coming from SteamDB.
Brammer added, “We’re still in Early Access and we’re not pretending the work is finished. We’re reading and watching reactions, fixing things, improving things and building what comes next. Thank you to everyone who has played, supported us and told us what they think so far. Keep it coming.”
