The clock is ticking down and any day now Steam will start their annual Summer Sale, where PC gamers from across the globe will repeatedly throw bags of money at their computer screen. While you’re eagerly waiting, here are all the other “Summer Sale” events from retailers across the web (with many of these titles activating on Steam too!)
In an effort to convince us their sales are the hottest, on Monday Green Man Gaming fired up their “666 Sale Event“. For 6 days, they’re popping out a new batch of 6 deals for 6 hours at a time. There’ve been some solid highlights so far, including Borderlands 2 with its Season Pass for only $13.50, as well as XCOM: Enemy Unknown with two DLCs for $11.70 (use coupon code GMG10-VTTCS-VYH18 to get these prices). Unfortunately, this “hottest” sale is not without problems. Like a body of one-dimensionally hotthinking regimental Redcoats, the UK-based Green Man Gaming marched directly into their Summer Sale without realizing the additional bandwidth they’d need to meet the increased demand. As such, many have missed the hottest sales thanks to sluggish (or never-ending) load times.
On Sunday, Amazon lit up their PC Digital Summer Sale. Nearly 1,000 games and bundles are discounted, including hits like Guild Wars 2 for $33.49 and the Borderlands 2 Bundleganza (Borderlands 1, 2, and Season Pass) for $21.99. If you’re a fan of Paradox strategy games, the best time to buy them by the boatload is during Amazon sales like this. As a prime example, the Paradox Seas Bundle includes 9 Paradox games for only $10 (separately $72).
Not to be left out, GameFly is throwing in an “Indie-Pendence Sale” for PC games this week, dropping many indie games to new lowest prices – best of all, their current July coupon (GFDJUL20) stacks with the instant savings.

2013 #NoDRM Summer Sale — at GOG.com. Since June 18th, GOG’s DRM-Free Summer Sale has been dishing out daily deals and will continue to do so through Saturday, July 5th. Otherwise, there are over 500 games discounted by 50% on their site, including Faster Than Light for $4.99 (normally $10). Ends July 5th.
