Unity announced today that it is supporting Netflix Games’ development on both mobile and TV, through dedicated engine support. According to Unity, this means it will be easier for developers to “build and deliver high-quality games across mobile and TV.”

According to Unity, this support “includes optimization for Netflix’s cloud gaming offering, provides a more seamless development experience for studios to build once and ship across platforms, and expedites the path for Netflix members to go from browse to play.”

Netflix is still investing in the games on its platform, though it seems to be focusing more on games based on its own IP. The most recent announcement was for Minigolf, which features courses based on Netflix series Bridgerton, Stranger Things and Squid Games. This title is TV-based and supports couch co-op.

Several of the platform’s recent games were built with Unity, including the aforementioned Minigolf, Unhinged and Netflix Puzzled.
