This is probably not the Christmas present Uncharted fans were hoping for.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End director Neil Druckmanm revealed on the PlayStation Blog that the anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive is now coming out on April 26. It was originally scheduled for release on March 18.
“This is our largest Uncharted game to date, and the team has been working incredibly hard to meet the challenge of closing out the game’s development in a timely manner,” Druckmann noted on the post. “However, as we approached our final deadlines and started wrapping up the game’s levels, we realized that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line. After carefully considering all of our options, we decided to extend our schedule, making sure that we get a few more polish passes before submitting our gold master (the final disc for manufacturing).”
This is actually Uncharted 4’s second delay. It was originally supposed to come out during 2015. This is one of the PlayStation 4’s biggest exclusives yet, so it makes sense that Sony and developer Naughty Dog want to make sure they launch a quality product (especially in an age where a buggy launch, like the ones suffered by Assassin’s Creed: Unity and the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight, can really hurt a game’s reputation).
