TwitchCon 2016 moves to Comic-Con’s home: San Diego

One of gaming’s biggest companies is bringing its biggest fan event to a new city.

Twitch, which is behind the the popular livestreaming site, announced the details for its second TwitchCon, which will take place in San Diego from September 30 to October 2 at the 2,600,000 square-foot San Diego Convention Center. This moves the convention from its location in San Francisco at the Moscone Center (which notes it has over 2 million square feet of space on its site) last year. Twitch has over 100 million visitors a month and has changed the industry by showing how popular gaming can be as a spectator sport, either from people simply watching someone play because they enjoy their personality or by viewing top-level competition in esports.
