The Nancy Drew game series (yes, it’s real) is back with Game 34 | Kaser Focus

So the good news first: We’re getting a new Nancy Drew game after several years of waiting! Now hold it right there. If you’re going to tell me that you weren’t aware that a Nancy Drew video game series even existed — trust me, I’ve heard that before. Despite being one of the longest-running game series out there (it began in 1998 and at one point two games a year were coming out), the Nancy Drew series remains relatively obscure. However, Her Interactive came out with a new trailer for the next game in the series, the thirty-fourth title, Mystery of the Seven Keys.

In the latest game, intrepid detective Nancy Drew must go to Prague to discover the fate of a stolen necklace. I haven’t yet played the game, but I’m going to assume this mystery leads to an even deeper mystery involving the shady underbelly of Prague — you know, the usual ND shenanigans. Technically the news dropped last week, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t give attention to the game series that practically raised me — the game series that got me through my years between playing primarily on PS1 and getting an Xbox 360. I was a little neophyte PC gamer just getting started in the world, and what do I find? An adventure game based on 9-year-old me’s favorite books.
