Super Mario Bros. 3’s Game Boy Advance port is now on Wii U

Another classic game is available digitally on the Wii U.

Nintendo today released Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 for the Wii U. Try to stay with us; this is a digital port of the Game Boy Advance remake of Super Mario Bros. 3, which originally came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Many fans consider Super Mario Bros. 3 to be one of the greatest side-scrollers and Mario games ever created, and the Game Boy Advance version includes improved graphics and extra levels.

Confused about the Super Mario Advance 4 part of the name? Nintendo actually released four ports of classic Mario games for the Game Boy Advance, all with the Super Mario Advance label. The first one was a remake of Super Mario Bros. 2 (and was oddly just called Super Mario Advance). Nintendo then jumped straight to Super Mario World and then Yoshi’s Island, which created this awkward situation where Super Mario Bros. 3 is simultaneously the fourth entry in a subseries.

Anyway, you can download this version of Super Mario Bros 3. on your Wii U now for $8. And don’t forget to grab those warp flutes.
