Last week’s 2.0 system update brought some big new features to PlayStation 4, but it also brought problems for some gamers. Sony says it’s now working out the bugs.
System update 2.0 was a big deal, mostly because it brought SharePlay, Sony’s unique game-sharing system that works via streaming, to PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, the major update wasn’t entirely good news as it resulted in many consoles freezing and some failing to turn on when put into sleep mode. The update also caused an embarassing delay for the PS4 alpha test of the highly anticipated shooter, Evolve, which was due to run on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC over the weekend. It’s an awkward step backward for an update that should improve functionality.
