Sega revives Virtua Fighter, debuts new IP at the same show

Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios made an appearance at The Game Awards to show off two new titles: One a new title, and one older. The first trailer is for a new entry in the legendary fighting game franchise, Virtua Fighter, which Sega plans to discuss in more detail in an upcoming direct event. The second is for an entirely new IP — an historical action-adventure game currently called Project Century.

Justin Scarpone, Sega’s global head of transmedia, teased the existence of a new Virtua Fighter earlier this year in an interview with VGC. It’s one of many older franchises the company is reviving, including Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio.
