The announcement was made at the Spike TV VGX awards. The show is being hosted online by Joel McHale and Geoff Keighley. Coming early next year, Agents of Steel is a naval-battle game where you create your fleet and then launch it into battle, said Johannes Paloheimo, the head of digital partnerships at Helsinki, Finland-based Remedy.

The iOS title is one of multiple projects underway at Remedy. It’s a “reverse tower-defense action-strategy game” where you can send ships into battle and watch the action unfold in real time.

The graphics look pretty good for a iPad game. And if things keep going the way they are in mobile gaming, we won’t have to make that kind of comment anymore.

Remedy Entertainment is known for making console games such as Alan Wake, Max Payne, and the upcoming Quantum Break. But it has also developed mobile games such as Death Rally Mobile. With its success there, Remedy is one of the few console game companies that has made the leap across platforms without faltering.
