PlayStation Network will have limited availability today as Sony takes a hammer to it.
The company’s online service is down while techs perform scheduled maintenance. Sony’s planned work started at 9:50 Pacific time this morning, and it expects to fully restore service until 4:30 p.m. Pacific. In the meantime, consumers won’t have access to the PlayStation and PlayStation Home. If you’ve signed into PSN in the last five days, however, Sony says that you “may” be able play multiplayer games online and media services like Netflix. On PS4, the What’s New, Live, and Library areas of the system’s operating system will not load, and the video and screenshot sharing features may have issues as well.
