Pixel Revolt – Episode 6

The guys let Jeff take the reins this week and hope to come through it alive. Before getting into the community segment, Derek recounts his first press event, as he went to see Need For Speed: Shift in NYC. The first segment ushers in a more serious tone than usual, with discussions on homophobia and boycotts, how genre conventions can look like selling points to a fan and like crutches to a critic, and the piles of shame lurking in the Pixel Revolt closet. (Don't worry, they still manage to sprinkle in some laughs, too.) The second segment is a return to form from last episode's interview with Rich McGrath, with answers from the community about what games they play when they aren't playing video games.

Next episode's community question:

If you could attend only one game convention next year, which would you choose: E3 or PAX?

Don't worry about whether you're part of the gaming press or not. What we're asking is whether you'd like to go to a place like E3, where you get to see all kind of new games, but it's more business-oriented; or if you'd prefer a place like PAX, where you don't get as many announcements, but it's a much more social experience. Let us know!
