Nintendo saved its biggest surprise for last during its Nintendo Direct stream
The house of Mario announced that a new Pikmin game is coming out for the 3DS. This will be the series’ first portable entry. While the main games have a top-down, 3D view, the 3DS release will be a 2D sidescroller. It will come out in 2017.
Don’t worry, it still looks like a Pikmin game. The leafy creatures follow around the player character, Olimar, and you can throw them by tapping on the touchscreen.
The last Pikmin game, Pikmin 3, came out for the Wii U in 2013.
