Europe’s game developers favor PC over iOS and Android

That’s one result from an annual European State of the Industry survey by GDC Europe, which is staging a big event in Cologne, Germany, on Aug. 3 and Aug. 4. The survey of 250 European game professionals also showed that they’re favoring Android over iOS when they choose to make games for mobile devices.

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sales in China are disappointing

A report by Niko Partners, which specializes in Asian games market intelligence, says that it expects only 550,000 total PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems to sell in China in 2015. However, this market research does state that sales will improve if the prices for the systems drop and if more triple-A games become available in the region.

Nintendo’s Miiverse is getting new features and a redesign

Nintendo’s Miiverse, a social network integrated within the company’s Wii U and 3DS systems, is getting new features later this summer. These include a personal screenshot album and a play journal, which lets you keep a record of your gameplay experiences by accessing Miiverse during a game.
