Nvidia partners with Nscale on 300,000 GPU AI infrastructure project

Bridging trade between the U.S. and the United Kingdom, Nvidia today announced that it is working with the United Kingdom, CoreWeave, Microsoft, Nscale and OpenAI to build U.K. AI infrastructure to fuel innovation, economic growth and jobs.

AI chip giant Nvidia is partnering with Nscale, the U.K. AI infrastructure company, to scale up 300,000 Nvidia Grace Blackwell GPUs worldwide, with up to 60,000 GPUs in the U.K.

It’s an example of growth in the AI economy. Nvidia believes that national investments in AI are critical to the future of technology ecosystems and it makes sense for companies to invest in Sovereign AI in the same way that nations invest in financial or military ecosystems.

Nvidia and AI infrastructure partners Nscale and CoreWeave are investing up to £11 billion in U.K. AI factories with 120,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs — representing the largest AI infrastructure rollout in the country’s history — and powering initiatives such as OpenAI’s Stargate U.K.

Nvidia is also collaborating with U.K. quantum computing pioneers to accelerate technology development across the quantum spectrum and announced it will deliver the AI supercomputing that will support quantum processors for a new quantum-AI center established by partners OQC and Digital Realty.

NVIDIA published two blogs highlighting additional innovation from U.K. industry AI makers across physical and agentic AI, life sciences, as well as on UK-LLM, which is using NVIDIA Nemotron to bring AI to speakers of Welsh, with more local languages to come.
