You don’t make $1 billion in just a few days by selling something only to 18- to 34-year-old men.

Grand Theft Auto V did make $1 billion in three days, and around 15 percent of those fans are women, according to NPR news segment All Tech Considered. NPR decided to seek out some of the women who enjoy the open-world crime game despite its reputation for treating females with something less than full respect.

The result is a four-minute story that reveals that, like the men who enjoy GTA, women love the humor and mayhem of the series.

“You can just cruise around in your car or any number of cars and sort of just experience the open world and listen to the radio, which always has great music on it,” developer Whitney Hills told NPR.
