Nintendo Switch drives 175% sales growth in past six months

Nintendo is revving up production of its Switch hybrid portable-home game console as it reported a 175 percent increase in sales for the six months ended September 30, compared to the same period a year earlier.

The Kyoto, Japan-based company reported net sales of 374.0 billion yen, or $3.29 billion, for the six-month period, compared with 136.8 billion yen, or $1.2 billion a year earlier. Profit swung from $337 million a year ago to $463.4 million for the most recent six months.
