E3 2016: What to expect from Nintendo — Zelda Wii U and no NX console

Mario publisher Nintendo is in an awkward phase between the struggling Wii U console and the upcoming NX system, and its presence at next week’s Electronic Entertainment Expo tradeshow is a little weird because of that transition.

E3 starts this Sunday, and Nintendo — like it does every year — will have a livestream at 9 a.m. Pacific time Tuesday. But it won’t have a ton of announcements because it’s focusing on the next The Legend of Zelda. It also won’t show off its next console yet despite the news that Zelda is hitting that platform at the same time as the Wii U.
