• Square Enix casts blue balls; no Final Fantasy 7 remake…for now. We all want it: A Final Fantasy 7 remake. Square Enix knows it, too. But they’re making us wait, as the company told VG247 there are currently have no plans to redo the popular PS1 role-playing game. We don’t blame them — why make a game that would earn them lots of money? Especially when you can make terrible CGI movies instead. Marketing 101, folks. [VG247]
• Steve Harris may phoenix down EGM in December. Founder and new owner of EGM Steve Harris announced on his Twitter that the recently shut down magazine may return on December 1st. Can’t wait! Wait, what’s a magazine again? [Kotaku]
• Attention cheapskates: Gears of War 2 will soon be cheaper. Developer Epic announced a “Game of the Year” edition will be coming out that will include all the recent DLC updates and will cost $40 in sawed-off Locust limbs. [1UP]
• This is a new concept: Heavy Rain may get DLC. The heavily-anticipated PS3 game Heavy Rain isn’t even out yet and developer Quantic Dream are saying they’re considering releasing downloadable content. We applaud their forward-thinking ways.
