NetEase Games Club, the official top-up store for Marvel Rivals, Where Winds Meet and other NetEase titles, is partnering with EBanx to offer local payment methods for players in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Peru.
The deal is set to add Pix in Brazil, SPEI in Mexico, PagoEfectivo in Peru, and the digital wallet Mercado Pago across the region, giving players in five different Latin American countries (Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Peru) more ways to pay for content on NetEase Games Club. The new options are joining existing credit and debit card support, according to a press release from NetEase.
Today, only one in four adults in Latin America has a credit card, even though more than half of the population age 15 and older has made a digital payment, according to a new EBanx report, citing World Bank data. That gap between digital adoption and card access is what the two companies are hoping this partnership will close.
The numbers vary sharply by country. In Brazil, the instant payment system Pix reaches roughly 170 million people, or about 96% of the adult population, while an estimated 60 million Brazilians have no credit card. In Mexico, just 33% of adults have a credit card, compared with more than half who use the account-to-account system SPEI. In Peru, 37% of adults have a credit card, while the cash-based PagoEfectivo reaches 64% of the adult population.
In a press release, EBanx explained that merchants that have added these methods have seen measurable gains: Pix integration has driven revenue increases of up to 37% within six months, SPEI up to 46% within three months, and PagoEfectivo up to 19% within a month.
“The next wave of video game growth is coming from emerging markets, and Latin America is leading it,” said Sean Yu, VP of commercial for APAC at EBanx, in a press statement. He noted that pairing cards with the payment methods players already use provides NetEase Games Club members with a more localized checkout and access to more of the Latin America’s revenue potential.
The five markets in the rollout have been projected to generate $8.4 billion in gaming revenue in 2026, according to Payment and Commerce Market Intelligence data cited by EBanx, with Brazil alone expected to account for $3.8 billion. Latin America’s gaming market grew 6.4% in 2025, per Newzoo, outpacing North America’s 4.2% and Europe’s 3.6%. The region has an estimated 372.3 million gamers, and 69% of its online population plays games on at least one platform.
The partnership also reflects a broader trend of Asia-Pacific companies expanding into Latin America as they look for growth beyond saturated home markets, EBax said. The company reported 48% growth in total payment volume in 2025, a company record, and holds a Major Payment Institution license in Singapore, where it established a regulatory headquarters in 2026.
NetEase Games Club serves as the official top-up destination for NetEase titles including Marvel Rivals, Where Winds Meet, Once Human, Knives Out and Identity V, offering recharges and in-game items through credit card, local wallets, bank transfer or gift card.
