Minecraft’s holiday update adds gliding to the console versions

Minecraft players on console are about to get some gravity-defying freedom.

Microsoft announced details for the holiday update for the console versions of the block-building and survival game. Originally a hit on PC, Minecraft has since come out for multiple platforms, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U. A series of updates have slowly brought the console versions closer to feature parity with the original. Minecraft is one of the most popular games in the world — selling over 100 million copies across all of its platforms — and new content ensures that players will stick around.
