The IGDA Foundation has launched its second annual Download for Charity (DLC) event happening March 27 – April 6, 2026 on Steam.

Alyssa Walles, executive director at the IGDA Foundation, said in an interview with GamesBeat in February that the latest event means that the more than 100 participating developers on Steam can donate a portion of their proceeds to the IGDA Foundation, which helps build a sustainable game development community.

Walles said the event was a big source of donations last year and it’s truly a win-win for participating games. In 2025, BHVR, Atari, and Double Fine participated and their games saw an uplift of five times the 13 times over their typical sales for that same period. Now there are many more developers participating, as you can see in the trailer.

After we wrote about the second annual event in February, a lot more participants came in, Walles said today.

As a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring a more inclusive, accessible, and sustainable game development community, the IGDA Foundation empowers developers through scholarships, mentorship, and global programs that create tangible opportunities and community for underrepresented talent.
