One of the new games Nintendo announced during its Switch 2 Direct was a new Hyrule Warriors, created by Koei Tecmo in partnership with Nintendo.
The new game is called Age of Imprisonment, and it takes place before Tears of the Kingdom. It follows the adventures of Zelda after she is thrown into the past. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment launches sometime next winter.
The trailer for the Age of Imprisonment shows Zelda battling alongside Zonai King Rauru and Hylian Queen Sonia. Several other fighters appear in the trailer, though their exact identities aren’t entirely clear. The game appears to follow Age of Calamity’s tradition of showing important events in the Zelda universe previously only hinted at.
