Take-Two released its quarterly earnings report, in which it gave an update on its franchise sales. Grand Theft Auto V might not seem like it could sell more copies, but according to the company, it has sold 5 million more copies since last report — over 215 million units to date. Even as its successor, Grand Theft Auto VI, is less than a year from its planned launch, the Los Santos crime saga continues to move millions of copies.

In its earnings report, Take-Two noted that the Grand Theft Auto franchise has almost 455 million units. GTA V alone is the best-selling game of the last ten years, and reached $1 billion in sales faster than any other media property in history, says Take-Two. The report also notes that the trailers for GTA VI achieved millions of views, enough to make them two of the biggest video launches of all time.

In his interview with Strauss Zelnick, Dean asked the Take-Two CEO whether the company expects sales of GTAV to drop off as Grand Theft Auto VI’s release approaches. Zelnick said: “There’s certainly no evidence of that occurring. We’ve sold in over 215 million units from GTA V and GTA Online users are up 50% year over year. We’re really excited about what that means. We don’t ever project how legacy titles will do a year hence. It’s impossible to do. So I think we’ve talked about Grand Theft Auto Online moderating for years and years, and here we are still a huge property. So our goal is to meet the consumers where they are, and that means, you know, delivering more great content.”

The report didn’t highlight the sales of Take-Two’s other properties as much, but it does note that Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold over 77 million (the whole franchise has sold 104 million). Other than GTA VI, the other games in the company’s pipeline include Borderlands 4, Mafia: The Old Country and Ghost Story Games’ Judas.
