Former SCEA Santa Monica director Todd Papy has found a new home. The developer is now director on an unannounced project at Ryse: Son of Rome studio Crytek.

Papy recently updated his Twitter profile to reveal his new job. Earlier last month, Papy revealed that he he was leaving Sony Santa Monica to relocate to Frankfurt, Germany for his “next adventure.” As it turns out, that was a gig with the Germany-based Crytek.

Papy is best known for directing Sony’s God of War: Ascension for PlayStation 3.

We’ve reached out to Crytek to ask what Papy is working on for the company, but a company spokesperson told GamesBeat that the studio does not comment on new projects.

Crytek is a multiteam developer that most recently released Roman-era combat title Ryse for Xbox One. The company also produces the sci-fi shooter franchise Crysis and a free-to-play military shooter Warface.

In early 2013, Crytek rounded up the remnants of defunct studio Vigil, which developed the Darksiders games. With the key members of that team, the developer formed Crytek USA in Texas. In addition to Crytek USA, the company has offices in U.K., Ukraine, Hungary, South Korea, Istanbul, Bulgaria, and Shanghai.

Crytek is headquartered in Frankfurt. That team is responsible for Ryse and the bulk of the Crysis games.
