Going back to the drawing board was a good move for Square Enix.
Square Enix announces that its massively multiplayer online role-playing game Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn has broken the 4 million-registered players mark this week. This worldwide number does not include the free trial players across available platforms. The 2013 overhaul of a failed 2010 launch seems to be paying off for the Japanese publisher, as the title continues to flourish and is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3.
To celebrate the 4 million accounts, Square has a free login campaign between tomorrow and March 9. This gives former players free access to the entire game, including all of the new additions that come with the most recent patch.
Updates will continue to push down the line following the recent additions of some fan favorite activities, including Chocobo racing and card battling. Heavensward, the MMO’s first expansion, is due out early 2015 and adds in new race, several jobs, and traversal options.
