I had the privilege to sit down and play Battlefield 6 this week at the Battlefield 6 Reveal event in Los Angeles. I played the multiplayer game across a variety of maps and modes and then I had a chance to sit down with Jeremy Chubb, a producer at EA’s Dice studio.

Chubb has worked on a Battlefield for years and is a veteran of Criterion, which made racing games before it became one of the Battlefield Studios. We had a nice conversation about the design intentions behind the spectacular Battlefield 6 multiplayer.

As a producer, Chubb oversaw the development from mode selection to post-match progression. He has more than 30 years of experience in the industry. Chubb hsa worked on a range of titles at Criterion, including Burnout, Black and Hot Pursuit, as well as the Need for Speed series at Ghost Games. His path into game development started with getting into trouble for playing games at work, so he found a way into gaming as a career.

Chubb appeared on stage to talk about the development philosophy on various parts of the game and I also interviewed him briefly as you can see in the video below.

Here’s a video of our interview, produced by Andrea Rene.

Disclosure: EA paid my way to the event in Los Angeles.
