Smite has begun its open beta on Xbox One, meaning anyone can download it from the Xbox One store and play it. Smite is a free-to-play MOBA (a kind of game where two teams of player-controlled heroes try to destroy the other’s base), similar to massive hits League of Legends and Dota 2.
Aerserv announced programmatic access to its high-quality mobile video advertising inventory today. The move will enable brands to buy mobile video via real-time automated bidding, just like many already buy lower-quality display advertising.
The title is a success for a game company with a lot of history. It was created by John Welch, cofounder of PlayFirst, as a social-mobile game publisher. Making Fun was acquired by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. in 2011.
