CI Games SE announced today that it has signed a €28.6 million (~$32 million) syndicated credit facility, securing funding so that it may complete production on its upcoming game, Lords of the Fallen II. The financing, arranged with Erste Bank Polska and Bank Ochrony Środowiska, will cover the game’s final production costs, launch and marketing.
80% of the financing is covered by a guarantee from Polish credit agency KUKE. According to the studio, it expects to repay the financing from the sales of Lords of the Fallen II. The game is scheduled to launch sometime in early 2027. This deal also allows CI Games to refinance its existing debt, while focusing on finishing the game.
Marek Tyminski, President of CI Games SE’s management board, said in a statement, “We have secured full financing for the launch of Lords of the Fallen II without issuing new shares. That matters for our shareholders, who keep their full participation in the game’s potential success. The banks’ confidence confirms the quality of our project and its commercial potential.”
Tyminski is also the largest shareholder of CI Games and will retain his holding until the financing matures in August 2027, which he says he has committed to because, “I know how much potential Lords of the Fallen II has.” The studio won’t issue new shares.
Earlier this year, CI Games announced that it was ending its publishing deal with Epic Games, which would have guaranteed the latter exclusive PC publishing rights to Lords of the Fallen II. No reason has yet been given for the termination of the deal, but without a publisher, CI Games will not have to share revenue of the game with any outside party.
