Call of Duty: Ghosts Activision Infinity Ward

Call of Duty teaser site goes live with hidden image

Activision is teasing something new on its Call of Duty website.

If you go to callofduty.com, the website will automatically forward you to callofduty.com/______. That website contains a “social mosaic,” a covered image that people can slowly reveal by sharing individual cells to social networks. At this time, just a fraction of the image is complete, but we got our hands on what is possibly the finished image stripped out of the website’s source code [above] thanks to user KyleN on gaming message board NeoGAF.

Here is how the image currently looks:

We’ve contacted Activision to ask for further details about this teaser.

We recently discovered a listing for Call of Duty: Ghosts on a pair of retailers’ websites. Interestingly, the URL for this teaser site, callofduty.com/______, has six blank underscores, which is how many letters are in the word “Ghosts.”

To further support the theory that the new game is Call of Duty: Ghosts, a tagline that reads “The Ghosts Are Real” is popping up on many popular Call of Duty websites and YouTube pages. Call of Duty gameplay commentator Ali-A posted the following unconfirmed image to his Twitter account:

Call of Duty is Activision’s megapopular first-person-shooter franchise. The series has had an annual release every year since 2005’s Call of Duty 2. The publisher tends to announce new Call of Duty titles during the NBA playoffs, which began recently and will continue through June.
