AlphaDraft — gaming’s DraftKings — is hosting its own $12.5k League of Legends tournament

E-sports is a growing industry that’s worth a lot of money, and a new company that wants that market’s attention has a pretty good idea about how to advertise itself: hold its own tournament.

AlphaDraft is planning a League of Legends tournament that will launch April 14 and have a prize pool worth $12,500. The company will invite 10 teams to participate in the competition, which will not count toward the League Championship Series — although it is an approved Riot event.
