After 8 years, Final Fantasy XV is about 50% to 60% complete

We’ve waited a long time for Final Fantasy XV, and we’ll probably have to wait a bit longer.

According to Hajime Tabata, who just took over directing duties for the anticipated sequel, development on the game is about 50 percent to 60 percent complete, according to an interview with Game Informer. However, this is largely because work on the game started over pretty much from scratch when Tabata joined the project about two years ago, which was also when developer Square Enix started to rework the game for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
