Assassin’s Creed: Unity will run at a resolution of 900p and 30 frames per second on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. But Ubisoft claims that it did not downgrade the PS4 version to maintain parity across the new-gen consoles.
Earlier today, comments by Assassin’s Creed producer Vincent Pontbriand started spreading where he claimed that Ubisoft wanted visual parity on Xbox One and PS4 to “avoid all those debates.” The developer was referring to gamers who use figures like resolution and frame rate when they argue about which console is better. Fans took this to mean that Ubisoft wasn’t taking full advantage of one system so that the other version wouldn’t look worse. The publisher has confirmed to GamesBeat that this isn’t the case.
