Persona 5 is coming to PlayStation 4

Role-playing game fans just got a little more incentive to move on to the new generation of consoles.

Previously, the upcoming Persona 5 was only announced for release on the PlayStation 3, but developer Atlus revealed today that the anticipated sequel is also coming to Sony’s newest system, the PlayStation 4. We also got our first real look at the game with a new trailer that shows off an animated cutscene (but no gameplay).

The Persona series started on the original PlayStation, but it reached a new level of critical acclaim and popularity with two releases on the PlayStation 2, Persona 3 and Persona 4. However, Persona 4 came out back in 2008. Since then, fans have waited for a true sequel while Atlus released extended editions and spin-offs (including a fighting game series).

Currently, Persona 5 doesn’t have a release date except for 2015 in Japan.
