While nailing tricks on your plank is ideal, skateboarding games have a tendency to devolve into big ragdoll simulators (at least when I play).
Video Blips:
• The bona fide enthusiasm of the gamers coordinating tricks in this Skate 3 video really lends an atmosphere of immersion. No, really. The ear-blasting rap music reminds me of the famous copy machine scene from Office Space. [Youtube]
Continue after the break for a trio of Monkey Island 2 Special Edition developers just sitting around, the sprawling battlefields of ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead, and the weirdest trailer for a handheld game that I have ever seen.
• A comfortably lit room and a plush sofa are all that's needed for some romping commentary in Monkey Island 2 Special Edition. Bonus: These guys designed the original Monkey Island 2 way back in 1991.
• The ultra-realistic war zones of Operation Arrowhead, a stand-alone expansion for ARMA 2, also feature ultra-deafening music. Seriously, people. Just because a trailer contains guns and mayhem, it doesn't mean that the soundtrack should be turned up to 11.
• This trailer for the iPhone game Kometen evoked a mixture of stop-motion nostalgia and utter confusion. A cycloptic comet consuming celestial candy? This explains everything. [Youtube]
