Oregon Trail was one of the first popular games to insidiously slip education in alongside the fun. If Justin Smith’s all-action reimagining, Let’s Go Find El Dorado, was on store shelves back in the ’80s, Trail may not have been quite as popular.

If you would rather bounce cows around and see how many flips a covered wagon can do than learn something, El Dorado is your game [Ludum Dare via Technabob]:

Smith’s game offers realistic (in a Moon Patrol sort of way) wagon physics and three exciting diseases to catch. Hopefully his next remake will be based on Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, except when you finally find that crook Sandiego you take her down with extreme prejudice.
