The Ohio State University Marching Band gave an awesome tribute to video games at yesterday’s game against Nebraska. The tribute starts out with a scene from Space Invaders where a cannon shoots a marching band member upward into the approach ranks of aliens. It includes tributes to Zelda, Halo, Pokemon, Tetris and other games.
The tribute is a nice recognition that video games have become a part of mass culture and have contributed to the common awareness shared by everyone. The tributes include iconic scenes and sounds that could be recognized by most people who are part of the video game generation.
