After 10 years of work, Bonfire Studios announced today that Arkheron will go into early access on the PC and consoles on November 27.

Arkheron is a fast-paced, isometric PvP game where teams of three fight through the Tower, collect items that shape their builds, and take on rival teams. No two fights play out quite the same way, and the moments you pull off with your team are the ones you’ll be talking about afterward, Bonfire Studios said in a blog post. (Check out our interview with CEO Rob Pardo here).

Bonfire Studios, the game developer founded by Blizzard veteran Rob Pardo, started 10 years ago. After a couple of years of hiring and prototyping, the company started making Arkheron, a multiplayer fantasy action game. And now it’s early access date is finally at hand.

“We have a game we love. Arkheron creates the kind of wild, memorable player stories that only happen here, and we’re excited to open it up to more players,” the company said. “It’s still in development and a long way from the competitive experience we want it to be at 1.0. Early Access gives more players the chance to play while we keep cooking. We want to gather meaningful feedback, iterate alongside the community, and be transparent about what we’re working on.”

There’s still a lot of work ahead.

“We need to make Arkheron easier to learn and fights easier to read, add more depth to Ascension and Spires, and keep building out progression that gives you more to work toward and brings more of Arkheron’s world and lore into the game. We’ll keep improving the fundamentals players expect from a competitive game, including matchmaking, performance, and stability,” the company said.

It also asked how it will know when Arkheron is ready for 1.0. It said, “When it’s earned a place at the top of your gaming rotation.”

Bonfire added, “We’ll have new announcements for you every week between now and November 27. We’ll reveal the Early Access Eternal roster, including a new Eternal, and share details about the Early Access editions and the different ways to bring your community into the game (little spoiler: including a Friend Pass!). We’ll introduce Prologue, the start of Arkheron’s narrative arc, with our first Collection to progress through, quests, and other ways to experience the world through gameplay. And we have a live event planned to kick off Opening Weekend.”

You can wishlist Arkheron on Steam, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S to follow the announcements and get ready for the Tower to open on November 27.
